Technical maintenance
During the financial year 2004, Stenvalls Trä AB acquired Helimek AB, an aircraft maintenance company supplying qualified aeroplane and helicopter maintenance in accordance with Part 145 (aircraft maintenance licence). Helimek AB was founded in 1985 in Arjeplog by Kjell Lindqvist in response to the demand for aeroplane and helicopter maintenance by operators in the mountain areas of Norrland. In 1988, the company moved to Piteå/Långnäs Airport in the Municipality of Piteå, where it continues to operate.
Helimek AB merged with Kallax Flyg AB on 13/06/2007.
The company’s base is at Piteå/Långnäs Airport where Kallax Flyg AB can offer Part 145 “Line & Base approval” for a number of aircraft. It also offers “Line approvals” in Kiruna and Lycksele where it mainly carries out minor maintenance for contracted flight operators. The main base has spacious premises, a seaplane harbour with a pick-up ramp and an airfield. This allows Kallax Flyg AB to offer its services to many operators.
